Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 488

Crossroads Of America Council

Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting. It is a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age). Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting. Currently, Cub Scouting is the largest of the BSA's three membership divisions (the others are Boy Scouting and Venturing)

Summer Day Camp Update
Five Fast Facts about Camp Belzer....
  • All Cub Scouts currently in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades are able to attend.
  • Pack 488 has reservations for the week of  June 25 – 29, 2012
  • Scouts will attend camp from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday.  Friday starts at 12:45 p.m. with a family picnic and campfire program from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.  The family overnight begins at 8:30 p.m. and ends on Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
  • Camp Belzer is located at 6102 Boy Scout Road, near the intersection of Fall Creek Road and Shadeland Avenue.
  • Fees are $60.00 (if you sold popcorn), but after March 15th, the fee will increase to $100.00.
and all scouts must have a completed Health and Medical Record form turned in with the camp fees.
The Central Indiana Council mailed out a Belzer Day Camp flyer and the Health and Medical Record to all Cub Scouts in December.  If you did not get that mailing, you can download a copy at the Council's web site
For those of you new to Cub Scouts or day camp, Camp Belzer is a five day program with an optional family camping overnight at the end of the week.  Camp Belzer is a great program that offers boys the chance to:
    • Make crafts
    • Shoot bb guns and bows and arrows
    • Go swimming and canoeing
    • Play games
    • Learn about nature
    • And be outside with their friends
Ask any Cub Scout that has attended, and he will tell you how much FUN he had at Camp Belzer.
